Tail Trimmer

The Keystone Tail Trimmer is an enhanced version of the original machine still in use in many binderies that cuts overhanging stock from the edge of signatures (pages of books). This machine is primarily used in soft cover book production. This is a manually operated machine that uses a single knife blade for trimming. A two-hand safety interlock and guard switches are used for operator safety.

Board Strip Cutter

The Board Strip Cutter was one of Keystone’s earliest designs. This machine is used to produce the end strips for the backs of hard cover books. Older machines used mechanical gears to change the length of the strips. This design uses a single knife with a stepper drive. A touch screen is used to program the length of the board to be cut. Boards are fed in by the operator and pulled through as they are cut to length. Our unique drop design allows cut boards to fall underneath the machine to be collected in a container.
